How it Works

Casting appointments are calm and relaxing; I will welcome you into my home and make you a drink whilst we look at examples and have a chat. I will always work around you all, allowing time during the appointment for feeds, changes, naps and snacks.

Using hypoallergenic alginate, the mixture is mixed and your little one’s hands/ feet are popped into the mixture. The mixture sets within minutes and becomes soft and rubbery and can be captured whilst your little one is awake, asleep or feeding. Your little one’s hands and feet are then gently wiggled out and the mould is created - capturing all of those perfect wrinkles and crinkles!

Once your appointment is finished, I get to work on your casts. This takes between six and eight weeks to allow for drying time and framing. There are lots of different frame, background and mount options and painted finishes for your casts. Your frame will have a personalised engraved or printed plaque with your choice of wording. Once completed, your frame will be ready for collection from my home for you to cherish forever.
